The wind was whipping its way past me as I walked up into a large building, with my suitcase in hand and the other free I wave off the guard-he justed nodded at me as I slipped across the floor and toward the elevator. I sigh and push the button with one of my thin, long fingers and wait for it to come down, I tap my foot on the white-smooth, marbled floor it opened and out came a few men wearing white lab coats. Oh God that can't be good, they all wander past me quickly dropping their heads and walking off into the other door that lead who-knows-where, everything in this building I knew just I didn't go because I had no need unless someone wasn't doing their job. I walk into the elevator and hold my suitcase with both hands and in front of me, some important papers in here but mostly it was for show, I wince and shrug to myself slowly glancing around the nice sized elevator. It had gold mirrors all around and a handle just in case, there were only four buttons on it-honestly I was surprised there was even that many floors in this building. I clicked my tongue and fixed my tie some slicking my hair back and wiping my suit off to make sure I looked alright.
The bell rung and the door opened and I walked out walking down the hall pass all the paintings on the wall, though they might seem a little dark they gave me some comfort. There was a strange smell in the air as I pushed open the door to the room, what was my boss up to now? Perhaps he was learning how to cook a man's head the right way! Or no I got a better one maybe he decided he wanted to eat frogs. Dom, Dom what are you up too? I place a hand up to my nose and walk across the room toward the shadow leaned over a table the window shades were closed as tight as they could, there was one small light on the table that was on and the seemed lingering smoke in the air. "Dom? Whatever are you working on now?" I asked ripping my hand from my mouth and letting my arm holding my suitcase rest some.

The room was dark, lingering smoke clouded my face and thoughtful eyes even in the small amount of light that shown throughout the large marble floor of my luxurious flat. I smiled slowly allowing my eyes to ease closed for a moment as I considered all the possible beings it could being speaking to me or just entering the room without my, much needed, permission. Maxery, or course, coming to inspect me or check up on his next list of duties, or was he actually answering his damn cellular-phone and coming when I called him? Sunday-weekend-break or not, his absence was never able to be excused. He was my "adviser" or at least that is what he liked to call himself in front of the other buisness men at the fancy parties, I thought of him more as a baby-sitter and perhaps a part time supporter to my cause... Of course this is signaling out all the more mainly and heartless things to call the tall thin man who I also thought of as a friend. I honestly felt like grabbing his tie and pulling him down to my seated level, lecturing him about keeping his cellurer-phone on and coming when he is called, but I wouldn't want to scare him or ruin the suit my money paid for. I opened my eyes once again, my smile fading away as reality reached me again, taking another drag of the cigarette between my fingers and turning my piercing blue eyes to my companion.
"I fired betty... My secretary...." I said rather flatly, putting out the tobacco, letting the leftover smoke seep through my nose as I watched what I was doing, then Maxery again. I settled back into my office chair and wrapping my fingers together, placing them on my lap inconspicuously. When he gave me that expression as if he couldn't believe I would take such drastic measures I continued, only forcing the importance of this into my tone. After all my will is everyone else's. "She wasn't devoted enough to my cause, and I hated-hated mind you-the perfume she wore, like roses, and I detest those wretched weeds." I said and paused to sigh slightly and shortly, leaning back in my chair and examining my creation on the table in front of me under the light of the one side-ways-lamp. I had smashed it into the lamp three minutes ago in frustration over my device not working properly, thus causing one of the bulbs to break and become a unuseful thing, like some people, so I decided to use this experience as a analogue in the matter of the secretary. "You see she, yesterday, reported to the police, of all people, that I had been making a considerable amount of noise in here. My own office. And that she was worried I was beginning to lose it mentally. Now of course they were to frightened, justly, to do much more then knock on the door but that in of and by it very self was enough to break my much required concentration and threw off my train of thought for a whole hour. I wasn't aware of the cause of the knocking but I investigated right away." I explained, gesturing for Maxery to have a seat in the chair across the desk from me if he pleased. I continued, "I relayed afterwords when I was finished exactly all the steps that were taken by the police and the other witnesses, all of the blame and facts leading round to poor... dear... Miss Betty." I stood once I was finished speaking and tucked my hands together under my-untucked shirt- and paced back and forth, going over the whole occurrence again in my head making sure I had everything sorted out perfectly. Pleased I had I spun my bare foot and face directly toward my friend. "That is why I insisted and made sure, personally that I did her that favor of firing her before I had someone kill her in her sleep at home. That would have just been messy and cost to much for something so simple." I waved one of my hands dismissively in the air at the idea, the other found it's way to my pocket and there it stayed. I smiled once again at Maxery and held out my hand after placing it over my heart. "Oh, please forgive my manners, they seem to have run out the door about as fast as Miss Betty when I told her the wonderful news..." I cleared my throat, "How are you?" I asked my grin remaining still on my face.

I laughed but it came out more like a wheeze, I unbuttoned my suit-jacket and sat down putting my suitcase on the ground, "Well after all that...I suppose I'm fine yet I feel kind of," I thought and cocked my head to the side and my lip twitched some, "sorry for Betty. I mean she had been working here for about...six months? That's the longest you've had one." I said and folded my hand together and placed them on my lap. I cross my leg and lean back in the chair finding it rather uncomfortable. My mouth's edge curved into a smile, "How are you, Dom?" I asked finally and stopped smiling so much. I glanced at the lamp and I felt my eyebrow raise I would ask but I already knew, he was upset about things not going his way-I honestly can't really blame him, he has reason to be pissed.
The other day we were going to a meeting and a man pulled a gun on us, he would have shot Dom if it wasn't for our guards that man would have killed him, he didn't seem like he was even the slightest bit worried about it though the man was dragged off and I saw to that he was killed so he'd never return and try again. Now the rage was coming out and Dom doesn't isn't the type of man you'd want to be around when he is angry. I know that one time I pushed him just enough and he had he against the wall with a knife to my neck. It was fucking scary but now we either laugh about it or just don't say anything at all, though there is a small scar where the knife was pressed it hurt pretty bad at first but then again I can't really handle pain just not that kind of guy. Just the idea of punching someone and getting a broken hand just doesn't fit with me, I feel myself shudder.
I smile again and move around in my chair slowly feeling my fingers through my hair making sure it was slicked back and hoped that it would stay that way.

I waved a finger at him and paused my thoughtful pacing yet again to pay full attention to my friend. "But that is exactly the point, Max. She had just been a service, nothing more. She got my coffee or tea, brought me my guards when I needed them and took phone calls for me. Sometimes she sat with me while I explained my thoughts on one matter or another, and once she even stated while she was leaving in that black-red dress of hers that fit a bit to tightly for a simple secretary's wardrobe, that, she in fact, considered me a good friend. But she wasn't nearly as enthusiastic as she should have been." I strode over to the large window, still walking all the while. "Any man woman or child here would take a bullet for me because they are humbled." I stated, opening the blinds on the window, over-looking Branson below, filled with the millions of rich men and woman who had survived the atomic war and struggled to be something better then the ordinary street hobo. I was proud of them for that... they would have excellent servants one day, now all I had to do was shape each and every one of them into perfect beings, without them even knowing it. "I am fine." I said absent mindedly, watching a man hug some woman before she got in the car and drove away out of the lot outside my building. Strange... the woman looked familiar somehow to me. I leaned closer to the glass, bombing my head against it, allowing it to rest there for a moment until the car was gone. Sadly my eyes were to dry for me to read out the license plates so I would more then likely never know who she was. Or I could call one of my men and get him to stop her before she got to the gate, however I refrained from doing so, for there were other matters to attend to that pressed harder in importance.
"My work hasn't been going according to plan, though, it is being such a pain in my ass I am about to break it into a thousand pieces all over my expensive." I explained my fingers tapping against the window sill, frustratedly enough to pierce holes through it. "As you know I have been exploring the possibility of cloning these past few months, or almost a year in a week, and I was just about to break the wall that has been standing so persistently between me and my goal... but I miscalculated somehow or the materials, which I was using, were faulty, for it failed and was near exploding."Just admitting these facts made me suddenly feel helpless against logic. I knew that it was a option when I started, that I might not ever succeed, but I had come so far and gotten to close to just surrender now... Though it was draining after all those hours, days, of work wasted so quickly. I sighed and turned around, backing myself up against the windowsill then pushed up and sat on it.

I watched my friend wander over to the window and sat on it, I purse my lips and look in his way wincing some at the light, "You have been cloning? And you have decided to tell me n-" While I was talking my cell phone started beeping, I look at the caller-ID and sigh holding my pointer finger up, "Hang on. I have to take this." I said and stood to my feet and walked over to the door and pushed it open, I walk out in the wallway and flip it open. "What is it? I don't have much time to talk, I'm in the middle of something so make it fast!" I hissed quietly. The man on the other end let out a sound that sounded like he was croaking, "Sir...the last one failed, but we have another one that could be promising." He said. I look back in the room and saw that Dom was still leaned against the window-"Good keep me posted. And get someone else to report to me next time." I whispered and hung the phone up and walked back in.
"Sorry about that now what were you saying?" I asked and shut the door behind me, I smiled sweetly and leaned back on the wall slipping my phone back in my pocket and crossing my arms tightly across my chest. He looked very pissed off now, I stop smiling and a worried look spreads over my face, I cleared my throat and looked down at the ground to see my nice black shoes and pin-stripped pants that fit nicely on my long legs, I loosen my tie some and try not to look up.

I covered my curious emotions with a steeling stare and simply smiled at my suspicious friend, who had proven useful before and loyal, but that act was a rather sly one and I didn't trust anyone, not even Max, especially not after that. I had observed that Lately he was beginning to take matters into his own, ungrateful, unworthy, hands without so much as calling me to level with me when he has been up to something, important or not, I disliked not knowing things. Knowledge was power, and without power I wasn't anything more then a slave to the government I was rebelling against, or other men seeking their opportunities to over-throw me. I wouldn't become a slave again, I wouldn't become a requirer again, I refused to be taken from. My years of struggling for anything were over and I absolutely would not go back to that life style, even if it meant getting rid of my best friend to do so. But I wasn't positive he was doing something incredibly important so I decided to slip around it and get to that question in a way he wouldn't detect. I hopped off the windowsill and walked closer to him, my hands clasped behind my back once again. I came to a halt in front of my lit desk and examined Max more closely. He was keeping his gaze from me, and for good reason, yes, but I wanted to read his soul and I couldn't do so without a direct connected with his eyes. He was hiding something and I wanted to know what. "So..." I walked around the counter and grabbed his jaw, making him look directly at me. His only choices were to look at me or yank away, I knew he didn't have enough back-bone to apply the second option. "What was that all about?" I asked, glaring slightly at him now. It was hard to keep the bitterness from my voice. He would have to either tell the truth or make up a convincing enough lie to get me off his trail, but I doubted he could do that.

I slightly moved away and gasped a little, "It was just a phone call about the assassin you wanted." I said looking at him with fear, my jaw hurt. I whimper some and put my foot against the wall behind me trying to get away which was not working, I sigh and gaze into his dark eyes hoping that he would let me go, at least he didn't grab me by my neck. "Please, D-Dom. Let me go." I pleaded as I closed my eyes he was very creepy and he knew it, he was scaring the shit out of me! I know I act like a little child that is afraid of monsters under his bed but I can't help it when he's in my face like this. I slip my hand back in my pocket and pull out my phone, "You want to talk to him? Not the assassin we haven't really gotten to know him yet but we will!" I said and gently tried to push his hand away.
I glanced around the room breathing rather hard quickly I lick my lips in a nerveless way, I hate it when he does this and he knows it, I look back at him in the eyes again. My palms felt sweaty and my forehead felt the same, I let out a long shaking sigh waiting for him to reply .

I released his face and took the phone away, flipping it open then closed after a moment of scanning the recent calls. He had done as he claimed, but I had a feeling it wasn't to my aid. I had only spoken of this need once and that was a month ago while I was drunk. "I don't remember asking you to do that, Max..." I hissed, sliding the phone into his coat's breast pocket and watching him carefully. He was lying, but it was convincing and I decided then that I would play along with the lies a bit more before I demanded the truth from him. Besides his bounty hunter might actually prove more useful then I thought. "...And what Bounty hunter did you have in mind?" I asked walking away from him over to my luxurious dark red couch and sat down, crossing my feet on the coffee table in front of me. It was covered in magazines and books I had left there, along with some strange items I had discovered outside in the parking lot last night while I was taking a quick walk to clear my mind. They were interesting looking and I enjoyed taking things apart. I pulled a long list from out of under the pile of porn magazines, (( I had brought to me while investigating more of Betty's dark past )) on the list was row after row of tiny printed names of all the bounty hunters alive, active and unemployed. I must admit the amount of them that were open was startling. "Get over here and show me..." I demanded now, as I looked it over for some, off the top of my head, possibilities.

I swallow loudly as he slips it in my pocket and walks over to the table, I wipe my forehead off and follow over there trying to stop breathing so hard. "His name is, Ricky Batemen. In fact I hav-have his file in my suit-case." I said smiling still shaken up over the whole thing I walk over to my suit-case and popping it open fingering through all the files and pull out his, I wander back over to Dom and hand it to him. "He might just be the one, Dom. I know you were drunk but I mean it is needed. You should really think about this." I said nodding and loosening my tie, I yank it off and throw it off on the ground, "Fuck it!" I said almost wheezing. I glanced at him and stride over into the bathroom he had in his office, I don't normally get so upset about something as stupid as a fucking tie but right now my nerves were off!
I pull my suit jacket off and hang it up turning the water on and raising off my face with cold water, this felt better then before. My coat wasn't on and the water felt so nice and cold-relaxing, I look in the mirror at myself and realize I was acting pretty strange, I fix my hair and dry my face off. I grab my coat and walk back out of the bathroom and sit down in a chair getting my suit-case before I sit, "Sorry about that, that doesn't happen much I mean you know me. Its just that I'm under stress at the moment." I lied, well half way. I mean it was stressful what I just went through and lying to Dom wasn't easy at all. I had to pretend that I was thinking about something else, I smile up at him and open my case again looking through some of the stuff in there.
Most of it was files there was a small comb in there that was on the side and a pare of sunglasses. I close it and stand to my feet looking around for my tie, I find it on the ground and pick it up folding it in half and throwing it in my suit-case. I hang my coat up and sat back down...again. Damn I feel so jumpy, stop fucking thinking about this and try to think about what matters for fuck sake.

I laughed at Max and his panicking childish behavior, and rubbed my face with my hands, and the paper-or file he handed me- partly trying to cover up the fact I was laughing, but also because it was natural to put your hand where your mind is. Forget ripping the true information from him, he was handing me his fear right on a plater without me saying so much as word. It was quiet amusing and I couldn't stop laughing for about a minute or so, but finally I calmed and cleared my throat looking directly at him, my eyes piercing into his very soul causing him to become more shaky and nervous then he already was. "Ricky Batemen you say.... Hmmm.." I thought about the name and scanned over my list of hunters. His name was highlighted in red, meaning (( in my ratings )) that he was a positive choice but costly and possibly dangerous if pushed to far. I knew him better, though, then just my list, I had heard about him before while attending a ball for a woman I was considering forming a partnership with. She was interested in the man because of his tendency to finish the job so cleanly and ask so little in return. She also said he was a good-looking gentle men who deserved more credit then he was given or asked for. He was motivated by something he lost once, I was sure, because she said he always asked, not just a low sum of money, but also of information on what was left of the government. My deduction was he was after a woman of some kind, but unfortunately, I had little info on the government at the moment because I was about to over-throw them entirely. Though I supposed I could fill him in later, after I had all the files and information ports I wanted. But I also deduced that he wouldn't take "later" in the offer, so money would have to do. Plus fame would come with it, free of charge and that would get him loads of recognition and a wider, more intimidating reputation. Mostly, if he were to actually assassinate the weeks one by one. Not anyone can do that. You would almost have to be a week yourself to kill one of the buggers... I hated persistent beings.
"Don't bother yourself with it, Max. I just didn't ever consider you would take my complaint so seriously, is all..." I said, my tone a slightly joking one. "Besides, I know you can get so panicky when you are in a tight spot, or caught in a lie." I added the last part with a sly smile before returning my gaze to my list then the file he had handed me. It was this Ricky Batemen's official Bounty hunter file, copied and printed twice over. The papers were yellow, and crumpled around the edges, tell-taleing that more then likely Max had been carting around this paper stack for a while in that suit-case and out. It had been around coffee from what I could smell and his Colline. I pursed my lips and pealed back a page after page examining his profile with amusement and something in the form of awe. I saw his picture then and stared straight at it for a moment, his eyes were steely and strong, not the kind of man you will ever seen sobbing like a bitch over a paper-cut... unlike Max. Below it was a list of the men/woman he had taken out over the years he had been serving the hunter honor, and I must say it was quite impressive. Over a thousand men/woman in only 10-15 years. I clicked my tongue and closed his file, thinking all I had soaked up carefully. Maxery Stin had chosen very well, and since I knew he had his own plans set out I was rather confused and worried about what they were, seeing as he was looking into such a skilled killer.

I shrug slightly and cross my leg and smile, "So you like him then? I mean you think he might work?" I asked and brushed off something on my pant leg. I needed to cool down I was going to be fine and I was 'happy' that he liked who I picked for the assassin, Ricky Batemen is a good choice and that is why he should work for his plan and mine, I lean back in the chair and feel a little proud of myself not showing this on the outside of course because if I did he would probably wouldn't want to deal with me anymore. The light hit the floor and on the table but because of all the magazines it covered it up and didn't shine in my face. The light was warm and it felt good though, sometimes I hate the sun but other times it relaxing to be in.
I sigh some and cock my head to the side and close my eyes rubbing them as I did, this day was going to be a long one I just knew it. He had that look in his eyes that I like to call his 'crazy eyes' he always did very weird things, perhaps it was a mixture of boredom and anger, I pull my fingers away from my eyes and look back at him and lean over on my legs with my elbows propped up on my knees.

I pursed my lips and set Ricky's file down on the coffee table, sitting up and clapping my hands together as I thought and concluded what my decision would be in the matter. At worst the hunter might end up growing a conscious of his own and coming after me for haring him to kill the legendary weeks, but given his profound professional record he would more then likely not even consider betraying me, especially since I have so much potential to carry government info that may be of some use to him. I tapped my chin thoughtfully and smiled once again at my friend. "I think.... He will do," I said and smiled, laying back again against my couch again and stretching my legs out to the coffee table, pushing some of the magazines aside so my feet could rest directly on it's wooden surface. Maxery, as expected, seemed satisfied with my choice to allow his man to do my biding, but I interrupted his pride saying: "But Max I want you to go after him, find him, and talk to him yourself. If he is some kind of rouge then I want to get the first warning signs before I so much as give him a hint at my plan. Who knows, he might be friends or related to one of the weeks with his kind of intimidating reputation. Not any man can kill the way he does and ask for so little. Only weeks enjoy the thrill of taking a life, because they are supposed to bring all that... crappy fantasy balance to life and stuff..." I rambled at the end but shut up finally and laughed, rubbing my hands together. "Just... talk to him. Find out who he is and what he is after before you tell him about my plans for him. Understand?"

I smile and sit up leaning back in the chair nodding, "I understand, Dom. I'll leave in a few days-if that's alright with you of course. I mean I wouldn't want to ruin whatever you had in mind," I said giving him a smart-ass look, "I'll see if my work let's up a bit." At this I laughed a little bit very quietly of course not wanting to really piss him off to the point of him getting his knife on me again, I hated being teated like a child-in the line of my work. Other times I liked being babied but not by him, he was my boss, my friend...my enemy. I flashed a glanced toward the window seeing some man cleaning it, "Is he suppose to be out there?" I ask not really even meaning too.
I was going to call Betty and ask her if there was suppose to be a man but he fired her and that was just great. So I'd have to wait for Dom to tell me, the man waved at us and went back to cleaning the window-whatever I look back at my friend, "Alright I'll leave tomorrow if you'd like." I said as something came flying through the window and skimmed my neck I climb out of my chair and stand behind my friend.
The man outside the window jumped in and started throwing things at Dom, getting a gun out. "GUARDS!" I yell and place a hand on my neck finding that it was bleeding. I back away as Dom almost falls back into me, I catch him my his sides and push him back up. The bounty hurter cocks the gun Mr. Metal punches the man before he could fire. I felt like I was going to faint, oh. I slowly start trying to stink down on the floor but I try to keep myself up. A few guards come running in and draw their guns one ran to me and picked me up like a baby and carried me off. The bounty hurter glares at Dom, "Just you and me!" He hissed in a low creepy voice maybe it wasn't as low as I heard it.
(( ----- Sorry about throwing this in here I was bored! And had to have something happen, sorry for the randomness. --- _))

I wiped my nose off after the man had thrown a shockingly, painful punch back at me, once I had issued the first defense attack. I walked back and forth in front of the struggling bounty hunter as my guards held him down on his knees, I was panting harder then I should so I swallowed and clasped my hands together and drew them both up to about the level of my lips, taking a deep breath and calming down. "What is all this now? Someone send a hunter to assassinate me in my place of living? Or are you just here for the view and decided to drop by?" I teased, messing the man's hair up then punching him across the face again, harder then last time, more then likely, knocking his brain around a bit more then I wanted it it. Still, I straightened my back and shirt, rubbing my hand to sooth the pained muscles and calm them back down from their swollen state. I was still calm, I just wanted to hurt him for taking me as a fool. I wasn't at all impressed with this man's tactics or the fact he was cowardly enough to try and pose as my window washer, that I didn't hire. It was the first sign and a dead give away, But the question, and the real point, was who sent him. "Yes, Maxery..." I said, sniffing some to keep any blood from draining out of my nose. I turned to face him and placed a encouraging hand on his shoulder. I took his hand and stood him up off the floor. "You should leave right away... and you don't need to be afraid of this... beast. He will pay for his attempt to catch me off-guard." I gave him a quick reassuring smile. "Now I know you can't stand blood so I would suggest that you leave immediately, because this man is about to get very bloody and torn, and we don't want you fainting on the floor dear, sir." I added the last part in a much lower tone so it was more between him and myself, but one of my loyal guards next to me heard and chuckled evilly at the idea. I smiled at him as well, feeling glad that he was so prepared and looking forward to hurting someone. That was what I wanted in a guard or any person who served me... the willingness to do what they were assigned to do. I patted Maxery on the shoulder once more and lead him to the door of my room, handing him his suitcase and fixing his shirt collar and tie, handing him his suit-coat and snickered slightly at my friends' purely terrified expression on his face. He was white as a ghost. I pitied him for being so weak, but he was going to have to be strong if he wanted to survive as my right-hand-man and friend. "Now.. run along." I said, giving him one last shove out the open door and waiting for him to waddle away.
